Alice, standing at Tommy's doorway, looking in at Tommy who is sitting on the edge of his bed, staring at a baseball in his hands. The closet door is open, that strange brown light shines into the room.
Panel B
Alice enters the room, clasping the doctor's bag before her with both hands. She looks expressionless at Tommy. Tommy looks up at her anxiously.
ALICE: "That's it. It's done."
Panel C
Continue scene.
TOMMY: "Are they gonna be okay now? Are they gonna stop fighting?"
ALICE: "Probably."
Panel D
Alice sits next to Tommy on the bed, sets her bag on the floor beside her.
TOMMY: "Probably? You don't know? But then why would you--"
ALICE: "All I can do is give them a chance to make things better. I told you. Love is a choice."
Panel E
Continue scene. Tommy looks down at his lap, unconvinced.
TOMMY: "You keep saying that."
ALICE: "It's true. Love is more than a feeling of affection. You have to do something with it."
Panel F
Continue scene. Tommy watches Alice's face as though he has just noticed something there he never saw before.
TOMMY: "What if you don't? Do something?"
ALICE: "You have to. If you do nothing, then it was never love to begin with. Love is a choice, and choosing love means taking action."
