Panel A
Tommy's home, in the den. Tommy, in his pajamas, sitting on the couch eating cereal while watching the television. He looks tired. His backpack sits beside him on the couch.
TELEVISION: "...detective in charge of the investigation into last night's 'playground murders'."
Panel B
Shot pulls back to show Tommy's parents in the adjacent kitchen arguing "quietly" about what to do with Tommy.
ELISA: "I have work today too, Paul."
PAUL: "Well we can't leave him here by himself all day."
ELISA: "Just call the office and tell them you'll be in late."
Panel C
Back in the den, Tommy looks away from the television. He watches his parents argue while they try not to look like they are arguing.
TELEVISION: "...firearms found at the scene do not appear to be the murder weapon..."
Panel D
Tommy's parents continue to argue in the kitchen.
PAUL: "Elisa. It's not my fault they closed the damn school down."
ELISA: "Me either!"
PAUL: "I don't see why you can't just take him with you."
ELISA: "You know I have meetings all day today."
Panel E
Tommy, anxious to stop his parents' arguing, stands up and interrupts his parents.
TOMMY: "I could stay at Sarah's today. Her dad works from home, so..."
Panel F
Paul grabs his suitcase on the way out the door. Tommy sulks while Elisa fumes.
PAUL: "Well that settles it. Have a good day, son. I'll be home late."
