I am pleased to announce that Alice Issue #4 and Alice Issue #5 are now available on the site! Alice Issue #5 completes the mini-series. It's taken longer than I thought, but I'm pleased with the results. I think you will be too. This story has had not a few surprises for me, and I am glad to be able to share it with you.
Keep in mind that just because I have finished writing Alice doesn't mean that the Project is finished. Alice was always intended to be an ongoing, living, collaborative effort between myself and the artists who contribute artwork for the story. In the coming months and years I will be accepting submissions of artwork from anyone who wishes to be a part of this unique online endeavor. If you would like to participate in the project, you can find all the details on the Audience Participation page.
If you are new to Alice, begin with Alice Issue #1, and enjoy the story. My Halloween gift to all of you.
Enjoy

I'm back with the next installment of Alice! Check out Alice Issue #3!
A number of "real life" matters have kept me away from the writing desk these past couple of months, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy developing new stories and projects. In fact, I don't think I could stop if I wanted to. Some day I will be able to quit my day job and write full time. Some day I may have to, if I want to tell all the stories welling up in this fevered brain of mine.
For fans of my short fiction, take note that it is Clarion Writers' Workshop season again, which means that I will be working on the two short stories I will send off with my submission to Clarion. While I won't be able to post these to the site until I have heard back from them, I expect I will be able to post them as soon as I get my rejection notice. Heh.
Last year's submissions, Coffee Girls and Roadkill are two of my more popular stories, and I think this year's subs will also be well loved. Stay tuned for details!
Also, I have added a link to my Twitter feed to the Contact page. Be sure to add JSDuke to your follow list to get the latest updates and track my movements.
Enjoy

Huge Update!
Alice Issue #2 hits the web tonight. I hope you will enjoy reading the second chapter of the story as much as I enjoyed writing it. I have to admit that Alice had surprises in store for me. I began writing Issue #2 with the certainty that I knew what was going to happen. I am the writer, after all. But Alice is a tricky girl, and when she beckoned me down unexplored passages of plot and narrative, well, I was helpless to resist. The end result is a tale much richer than I originally thought it could be.
Thank you, Alice!
(Oh yeah. Boogy helped, too.)
There are several important updates to the site in addition to Issue #2:
Enjoy,
